Laconic Oration – February

Laconic Oration is a blog full of interesting/inspiring images. It’s a baby created by Natalie and me.

Every month, I take a handful of my favorite images from the month and post them here. For example: January, December, November, October, and September.

Laconic Oration – January

Natalie and I maintain an image-blog over at laconicoration.tumblr.com.

Here is a very small taste of what was posted there in January:

i’ve also posted samples from December, November, October, and September. However… you could always just stop over to the site itself

Laconic Oration – November

Here are a bunch of images from Natalie and My image-blog: Laconic Oration.

All of these are from the month of November, which was a busy month over there. We found a bunch of great items that needed to be shared. This selection is just a very small fraction, so if you like looking at things, go to the blog.

ps- click here and here to see small collections from September and October.

Des Moines Register’s X-mas feature

For the most part, I dislike the Des Moines Register, but this daily Christmas feature is a hit. Starting yesterday, each day the Register will feature a photo from their archives. Here are the two photos posted thus far:

From 1935: The date on the back of this photo is Dec. 11, 1935; it shows men unloading Christmas trees among the railroad tracks and warehouses that lined the area south of downtown Des Moines.

From 1987: Downtown Des Moines as it looked in November 1987. The west side of the Financial Center was lit up with a Christmas tree shape while TV ads were filmed to promote the downtown area.

Sexy Frankenstein’s Monster

while everyone else is focusing on the election and our new president and blah blah blah, i’d like to draw attention  to something equally as important, and yet, hardly ever talked about:

sexy frankenstein’s monster…

…there’s nothing sexy about it.

these are so magnificently creepy that i can’t stop looking at them.

Sleep Pictures

David Ichioka has created a series of photos called SLEEP PICTURES. Basically… he just sets up a camera that takes one picture every 20 to 30 minutes, documenting sleep cycles.

i really like this series.
