Donkey Kong 3 is Nintendo’s attempt at a Galaxian-style vertical shooter disguised as a Donkey Kong game.  Stanley the Bugman is charged with protecting his greenhouse from a gorilla and his swarm of insects, descending from hives located on either side of the screen. The vermin either attack Stanley or attempt to steal the greenhouse’s plants and can be repelled with Stanley’s pesticide cannister.  The main objective of each stage is to spray Donkey Kong’s posterior until his head becomes lodged in a beehive, part of a humorous presentation that contrasts with most of the game’s peers in the shooter genre.

Donkey Kong 3 was inducted on April 16th, 2009.

I just wanted to say this series is great, and you should publish it in a book. Also, Burger Time?

  2. Dear Milo Prometheus,
The Burgertime entry is actually completed and patiently waiting in the pipeline.
