Thunder Castle is perhaps the ultimate culmination of the maze chase genre originally popularized by Pac-Man. The character and setting designs are top-notch, accompanied by a superb, suspenseful musical score. The player guides a knight through a constantly-changing maze speckled with power-ups that grant abilities like invincibility, teleportation, or passing through walls. The game is divided into three screens or levels depicting a garden maze, a castle, and Hell itself. Gameplay is much more strategic than most maze games and each level may require several minutes to complete as the player avoids the enemies and attempts to slay them when the right power-up is obtained.

Thunder Castle was inducted on February 23rd, 2009.
