The first of the great, original creations for the Atari 2600 and also the first ever action-adventure video game, Adventure is one of the strongest Atari 2600 VCS exclusives.  Adventure features elements that became common in later adventure and role-playing games including including exploration, swords, dragons, puzzles, and even an inventory system. The standard setting only requires about an hour to defeat but a randomization mode offers a new experience for replays.

Adventure was inducted on February 23rd, 2009.

  1. I don’t get it. It looks like Pacman, but without the ghosts that chase you and dots to eat. BUT, from your description and that it’s a precursor to Zelda makes me want to play it now.

  2. A classic game, one of my favorites for the 2600!! Currently enjoying the iPod Touch version
