I know it’s been a while since we’ve posted any NEWS about The Noising Machine. Sorry. But at least there have been plenty of good posts to take the place of this boring old label nonsense. Don’t believe me?! Check these out:
Finally, in other news… we are playing a show on Saturday (Oct.3rd) with Broken Spindles, Pharmacy Spirits, Blutiger Fluss. It’s gonna be a good one, I think!!!
After this show, we’re gonna go hibernate like the mighty grizzly. However, unlike that unproductive waste of space, WE are going to be recording like CRAZY and will have a new album or two by the time the ground thaws.
Don’t worry, though, we’ll be keeping everyone up to date with what’s going on during this time.
Luv,
Scott
Here’s the flier for the show on Saturday, see you all there!
This Monday, July 20th, TNM’s own Beati Paoli will be playing with the latest buzz band, Japandroids, at the Vaudeville Mews (212 4th St) in Des Moines. Also playing will be Wolves in the Attic, The Huxley Maxwell Exit, and Banshee Beat. It’s an 18+ show, cover is $7, doors are at 7 and show starts at 8. It will easily be the most rock n’ roll that Des Moines will see this summer!
Japandroids – Wet Hair (from “Post-Nothing”)
Beati Paoli – Disturbance (from the brand new digital download “Quid Pro Quo” which can be purchased here.)
Wolves in the Attic – On and On (from “Electronic Hearts”)
On Friday, June 19th, the release party for the mildly anticipated 7″ split between TNM’s Beati Paoi and Central Standard Record’s Aeon Grey occurred. It was a good time and all parties whom played (Skylar Johnson, Gaiden Gadema, Waxeater) were awesome. Especially Waxeater. Those guys played an intense set.
But, again, the reason for the show was the celebration/release of the split.
If you missed it , you missed a good time. However, you did not miss your opportunity to pick it up. You can purchase it online here (on right side of the page), as well as from ZZZ records in Des Moines, with more locations to come.
In addition to the split, a digital album entitled Quid Pro Quo is included to download. 14 tracks in all, it contains both new originals and remixes by Beati and Aeon. Check out a few tracks from the QPQ album below…as well as Beati Paoli covering “Lose My Breath” by My Bloody Valentine.
“Disturbance” – Beati Paoli
“Detonated City” – Aeon Grey
“Lose My Breath (My Bloody Valentine cover) – Beati Paoli
Over the past few months, Beati Paoli has been working on new material. They’ve been planning a split 7″ with hip hop artist Aeon Grey that will also include two digital mini-albums (via download cards). the 7″, titled “Quid Pro Quo”, will feature one new song from each artist, and the download only material will be a combination of new and remixed/reworked tracks.
The release party is scheduled for june 19th (at The Vaudeville Mews in Des Moines, IA), but you don’t have to wait that long to get a taste of the new stuff. This friday, 5/29/09, Beati Paoli will be uploading a new song, called “Massive Charm Offensive”, onto their website (http://www.beatipaoli.net) and myspace. I’ll try and upload it here as well.
and just so this post isn’t completely BORING, here’s a sample of the 7″ artwork:

This tour is going to be grand. Hitting up some old favorites, as well as some new places. Expect (maybe) daily updates from the road. And this time, our roadie will be everyone’s favorite youtuber and TNM blogger, Tony!
i just wanted to take a moment to tell everyone about another new addition to the noising machine family; a couple of cute boys with the pseudonym: “D R U I D S”
it’s definitely a large step away from our other new comrades, Wet Chemistry, and not exactly similar to Beati Paoli or MCKNGBRD, but at the same time, i think these four bands fit together very nicely. it might be that all The Noising Machine artists seem to come packaged with a similar frame of mind, or maybe it’s just that they all write music that i love, and you have to be me to see the connection. either way, i think it makes sense. you can check them out at http://www.myspace.com/druids666. so far, they only have one live song available to listen to, but there’s a full length studio album currently in the works, so be prepared. AND IN OTHER NEWS… Wet Chemistry was on Scented Vinyl a short ways back, and we now have a video from that appearance up on our myspace (http://www.myspace.com/thenoisingmachine). swing on over there and check it out. thenoisingmachinerelated posts:
rateyourmusic.com is something i think greg and possibly tony would be really interested in. it’s both a database of recorded music, an organizational tool, and a social networking site. you see… basically… you set up a profile and then add, from their database, all the albums, eps, singles, bootlegs, etc that you have in your personal collection. you can also look up specific albums to read reviews and see what other people rate them. this is all fun and interesting, but the parts of the site that i find to be the most fun are these:
1.) you can compare your musical tastes with others. you can automatically find people with similar collections as well as compare the ratings you’ve given with the ratings others have given.
2.) you can view various statistics about the music in a collection. for example: breakdown by rating, rating by decade, or ownership by decade, format, or release type. there are also top releases for every year and other fun charts and lists to browse.
i (scott) decided to make a profile today. you can check me out at: http://rateyourmusic.com/~MCKNGBRD. i haven’t had time to add my whole collection yet (i’ve only gotten through the “B’s” so far), and haven’t actually RATED the majority of what i’ve added, but i’ll have it all up eventually. let’s be friends! :*
Be sure to cruise on over to the Cityview website and vote on the “Best of Des Moines.” Vote us best band in Des Moines, DUH! Best Band is a few pages in.
And Beati Paoli has joined the world of Twitter. Join up and you can be notified when we start a new movie franchise. Or when we have shows coming up.
