After four years of beat-em-up dominance, Street Fighter II established the one-on-one fighting game as the most popular genre in arcades.  SFII featured a varied and appealing cast of characters and silky smooth controls.  SFII also introduced (for better or worse) the trend of fighting games receiving multiple tweaks, updates and re-releases.

Street Fighter II: The World Warrior was inducted on September 9th, 2009.
