Fighting gamez iz dead?

July 17, 2008 · 1 Comment

The heyday of the fighting game was definitely the 1990s. Sure, some are still released but most of the high profile releases are new installments in franchises that began in that period plus a bunch of low-profile games with anime licenses. For some reason, there are a lot of high profile fighting games due out this year, many of them featuring some biggish licenses. Here they are!

CAPCOM
Street Fighter IV (arcade)
Capcom vs Tatsunoko (arcade) – the VS. series returns, this time pitting Capcom against the many Tatsunoko characters that are household names in Japan but almost unknown in the US.

MIDWAY
Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe (PS3/X360) – omg I can make Batman kill Sub-Zero.

NAMCO BANDI
Tekken 6 (PS3) – already in arcades
Soulcalibur IV (PS3/X360) – featuring guest appearances from Star Wars characters.

KONAMI
Castlevania Judgement (Wii) – huh?

SQUARE ENIX
Dissidia: Final Fantasy (PSP) – huh?
