stumbled across this little guy on accident. god bless the google reader.
he’s an ECHIDNA, a relative of the platypus, native to New Guinea and Australia. not to be confused with echidna, the mother of all monsters.
these puppies are similar to anteaters, in that they use their long, sticky tongues to eat ants and termites from logs and anthills and the such.
the baby echidnas are called puggles, and look like this:

now, to help you forget about those ugly mugs…
